In 2007 when we started creating Green Career Central, we were thrilled when we found ONE green article a day!

Back then many of the articles we found were focused on making personal lifestyle changes rather than political news, industry innovations, new goals and guidelines, and success stories. Solid information about the green economy was very hard to come by.

	"Can't I Find All This on My Own?"
	Sure, anyone can use a search engine to do searches to find information about green industries. But before you try that...let me pose a few questions...   Do you know the best key words to use in your research? We do, in fact we include these lists on the industry profiles within the Green Economy Map. Do you know enough about your target green industry to be able to synthesize all the pieces of information you are collecting? We provide a clear overview of each industry so you get your bearings quickly and efficiently. When I wrote up the 50 industry profiles for Green Careers For Dummies, I had to create a simple, easy-to-grasp overview as well as a statement about the current status of the industry and a few forecasts for the future trends. To do this level of research I generally spent 3-7 concentrated hours to wrap my mind around how to frame the industry, what to include, and what not to include. Our researcher and industry trackers spend anywhere from 20-40 hours creating our full industry profiles. We invest this time and effort so you have a reliable, cohesive jumping off point for your own research. You will need to use your Google skills to do your own research, but you'll begin with a general understanding and framework of how the industry works.
